JEXPO Application FormThe candidates willing to take admission in the Polytechnic field need to go through the Common entrance test and prove their mettle. Once they clear the written exam successfully, they are called upon by the governing body for counseling and depending on their rank they are given the list of colleges where they can apply.

About WBSCTE Polytechnic Admission

Polytechnic education came under the scanner right after the independence. It played an important role in bridging the gap between the workmen and the engineers. During the time of industrialization when the plan of PSUs was rolled out, the Polytechnic education gain much more importance. In order to supervise the work in the Ordnance Factories, railways and other industries, talented pool of supervisors were required and the Polytechnic colleges came up with the required talent.

Eligibility criteria of JEXPO 2016


  1. Citizenship: IN order to sit for the entrance exam of JEXPO, the candidates need to be the resident of West Bengal.
  2. Age Limit: The minimum age limit that the candidate must acquire at the time of the exam is that of 15 years.
  3. Educational Qualification: The aspirants must have appeared in the Class X exam or passed the exam with a minimum of 35% marks (except the additional subjects) from a recognized board or equivalent.

Application Process in JEXPO 2016

The candidates can acquire the application form from any of the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education (WBSCTE) Affiliated Polytechnics.  They can also get it from various other centers that have been notified by the council. There is also one center in Tripura as well.
The candidates will have to fill up the application form completely with all the correct details and then submit it at the Affiliated Polytechnics only.

Application Fee of JEXPO 2016

The candidates will have to pay a sum of Rs. 500 as application fee for JEXPO/ VOCLET.

Syllabus of JEXPO 2016

The standard of the exam will be that of Class X level. There will be Mathematics and Science questions. Algebra, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Algebra, etc. are there in Mathematics’ syllabus and in Physics the candidates will have to go through Matter and Energy, Change of State, Work, Power, Energy, etc. In Chemistry the students needs to practice Identification of Matter, Solution, Periodic Table, Oxygen, etc. So, the candidates are requested to go through their Class X syllabus thoroughly, so that they can attempt the question easily.
